FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What should the student know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I find that I'm lower than most studios, due to me not having to rent out any special equipment. I have all the tools my clients need to exceed their expectations.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I like to meet with people and get familiar with who they are, and what they are looking for. That way I know what kind of music they like, who are their musical influences, what kind of songs they would like to play.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Yes, I have taken a college level harmony and theory course. I also attended and completed a Praise Guitar workshop from John Standefer, a winner of The National Fingerstyle contest. I also attended The 2016 Britt Festival Guitar workshop and was the assistant to the teacher. I have a Bachelors degree in Human Resources Management. I read guitar world, watch guitar videos, read books, forums, play Rocksmith, watch Youtube or do anything to stay up to date and learn what's out there.

How did you get started becoming a guitar teacher?

I took lessons from a professional guitar lesson company who will remain anonymous as they treated me like a number. They didn't answer any of my questions. I told myself I would never have anyone feel like their a number and pursued to work with anyone who wouldn't give up on themselves. I have my business "Don't Give Up" Guitar Lessons and that is exactly how I live my life and teach my children.

What types of students have you worked with?

Anyone no matter their age, disability, challenge, restriction, it doesn't matter what their ethnicity, race, sex, age, origin is. We can communicate through music and speak two different languages.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a guitar teacher in your area?

Know what you want, and ask questions, to make sure we are both on the same page. You want to make sure their is a connection for you to invest your time and hard work.

What do you want to tell all of your students?

Dream big. I will be able to help you get focused & show you how to get there. Dreams are created out of your ideas.
